SCG Muangthong United officially announce the agreement for Theerathon Bunmathan on loan to Yokohama F-Marinos of the J.League for the 2019 season. The left footed defender will wear the #5 jersey in this his second year on loan to the J.League.
The announcement was made at the January 26th press conference, with club president Mr. Wilak Lohtong and representatives of Yokohama F-Marinos at the SCG Stadium.
Mr. Lohtong commented, "I would like to welcome Mr. Ryōji Kurosawa, Chairman of Yokohama F-Marinos and other executives who have travelled to Thailand for today's event, and to thank them for their interest. Our club believes in the importance of allowing players to be challenged, and we see this as a way to develop Theerathon personally, and although this creates a hole in our roster, we see the benefits will be shared by Thai football in the long run, including advancement of the national team."
Mr. Kurosawa confirmed his club had been following the progress of Theerathon last season, and can see the potential he brings to the club as an excellent left footed player. He thanked the Kirin management for the openness to release an important player, and invites fans to send encouragement to Theerathon and Yokohama to succeed together.
Theerathon Bunmathan commented that he is fully committed to improving with Yokohama, and that he intends to prove he's a worthy representative of Thailand. To the SCG Muangthong United fans, and the fans in Yokohama, Theerathon requests their support and encouragement as he embarks on this new challenge.
