SCG Muangthong United have advanced to the next round of the FA Cup with a 4-1 victory away against the Ayutthya Warriors.
After full time the score was locked at 1-1, with Cleiton Silva equalizing for United at the 79th minute. The match went to two extra time periods. The rain soaked field, and the tenacity of the Warrior squad, prevented SCG Muangthong United from playing their usual passing game.
Ten minutes in to the first overtime period Michael N'dri headed home the go ahead goal.
In the second overtime period, the strong pressure from SCG Muangthong United led to an own goal from Ayutthya, when the defender stuck out his foot to block a pass to Teerasil who was wide open. Had the pass gone through it likely would have been a score.
Teerasil was to get a goal just a minute before the end after a fine series of passes set up his shot into the lower right corner.
