Match Report - MTUTD vs. Ratchaburi - March 27-14

Muangthong United had high hopes of taming the dragon, but instead lost their first game of the season 2-1 against Ratchaburi, who extend their undefeated streak to five games.

Muangthong started off well with a fine goal from Mario just before half time. Then, shortly into the second half Ratchaburi midfielder Tongate was sent off with a red card, and Muangthong looked set for victory.

However, Ratchaburi mounted a strong comeback, and despite being one man down tied the game, after a free kick rebounded off the post and landed easily on the foot of an open attacker. Muangthing were further frustrated when a foul in the penalty box was not awarded a spot kick, leading manager Scott Cooper to quetstion the referee. Shortly after, the winning goal was struck from well outside the box near the sideline, with a high loping ball that caught the Muangthong keeper out of his net.
